You are a Mystery as Deep as the Sea

Virtual Retreat with Saint Catherine of Siena and the Daughters of St. Paul

You are a Mystery as Deep as the Sea!

Virtual Retreat with St Catherine of Siena and the Daughters of St Paul

“The soul, before the abyss that You are,
is always famished and hungering for You, O eternal Trinity..."
Catherine of Siena

The sea is an abyss, deep and mysterious. It is majestic. Endless. Frightening and powerful. Unexplained. But also life-giving, exquisitely beautiful, and inspiring.

As you approach Christmas this year, you may be feeling that your heart is also an abyss, one as deep as the sea.

An abyss of loneliness.
An abyss of confusion.
An abyss of exhaustion.
An abyss of grief.
An abyss of fear…

You can add more words to this list out of the hidden depths of your own experience, can’t you? You have probably discovered myriad mysteries in your life this year, many of them in your own heart.

We’d like to explore some of those mysteries with you, offer them to God, and share the greatest mystery of all—the Incarnation. We’d love for you to join us for a three-hour virtual retreat with a mystic and Doctor of the Church who lived through her own deep abyss: St. Catherine of Siena.

If St. Catherine were here right now, here’s what she might say to you:

“If you want to know who you are
and what value you hold, go to the One who made you.
By gazing at our maker, we understand best who we are.”

Join us if you're tired, hoping against hope, or if you need to feel God close again.

Come if you want something deeper. Deeper prayer. Deeper meaning. A deeper life.

Reverently honor your story

For centuries, people have pondered the meaning of life, wondering who they are and how they fit in—but perhaps never more so than now.

We don’t understand why sickness and death continue to haunt our homes and families and communities.

We don’t understand how we can get through the loneliness of long evenings alone and relatives we cannot see.

We feel empty, we feel our lives don’t have purpose, we feel like we’re stuck in an endless twilight.

These times have been hard for all of us. We don't see anything clearly.

Join us for 3 hours

We’d like to look together at these questions with you, offer them to God. We’d love for you to join us for a three-hour virtual retreat with a mystic and Doctor of the Church who lived through her own difficult questions: St. Catherine of Siena.

What St. Catherine would say to you

If St. Catherine were here right now, here’s what she might say to you:
“If you want to know who you are and what value you hold, go to the One who made you. By gazing at our maker, we understand best who we are.”

Feel God close again

It is time for a reset. This retreat is a wonderful way to slow down, to re-prioritize, to check in and catch up with yourself. You will be prepared to embrace December and all that Christmas will be (or not be) this year.
